in which i send a happy new month greeting to you

HAPPY NEW MONTH!
a little ways back, i started messaging some friends and loved ones on the first of each month to wish them a happy new month like this. now, i’m continuing to do that with substack’s help here (thanks substack)! we wish each other a happy new YEAR, so why not a happy new MONTH?
the fact that you’re receiving this here means YOU ARE SOMEONE I CARE ABOUT and want to wish a happy new month to each month (which is all that i plan to do with this account… along with a possible mid-month message for people who subscribe because they want that).

B) HAPPY BELATED (AND FOREVER CONTINUING) PRIDE MONTH!
june was pride month officially, and i’ll add here that, to us here at the Happy New Month Co, july and every other month moving forward is also pride month unofficially. welcome to pride-july! all are welcome! i just googled “LGBTQIA" longest form” and found “LGBTQQIP2SAA” which stands for “lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersex, pansexual, two-spirit (2S), androgynous and asexual” and are all part of the all that are welcome. you are also welcome if you’re straight, cisgender, non-questioning, monosexual, any-number-spirit, or otherwise! (the only one i might question is “non-questioning,” but if you identify as non-questioning, i will respectfully not question you.) sincerely, thank you for being here, whoever you are, however you are. and if there are any identities i missed, welcome as well!

today, july 1, is the birthday of one of my best friends.
he doesn't generally make a big deal about his birthday.
in fact, i always make a bigger deal about his birthday in my head, and right here.
i love our friendship and i love celebrating it and i'm happy to have the reminder that he was born which i know happened on this gem of a day.
and also of course, every day is potentially a gem of a day.
i hope this day/month/all-time is shiny for you!
so, a secret happy birthday to my friend!
and a public happy new month to all of you!
and an even more public somehow happy pride to all of everyone forever!
and a happy northern hemisphere first full month of summer to us all as well!
